The Process

A brand new startup, this business was looking to make waves in the entertainment industry when it comes to content discovery. Stakeholders know the impact of data and the implications of it alongside new user acquisition and ongoing talks with investors; both existing and new as they head into their first seed round.

The main objective was to deliver a tech stack that would indicate core user behaviour; what users were doing in the app and how the business could produce new and improved features.

Data would also be used to trigger marketing automations to feed into the product growth strategy and investment milestones.

The Result

The company hit their first 1,000 users within 4 months supported by organic outreach and supportive paid media. That growth continued as the user base increased at a steady 15% month-on-month with the paid media strategy becoming more important. The company is set up to scale with a lot of confidence (from both C-suite members and investors) in 2023.

Key metrics

  • Growth of new users (installs and sign ups) - 4.4x increase in new users in 3 months of campaign activation
  • Maintain retention and find additional levers to keep users coming back - a 7.5% increase in the number of users completing significant actions in the first 3 days of use
  • Manage and optimise paid media campaigns to improve user adoption - $2 CPA achieved and maintained across the duration of the campaigns
  • Build a strategy to scale advertising efforts

As a result of our efforts, the business now has a deep understanding of user behaviour and can make informed decisions about how to grow the business and gain additional investment to fuel that growth. Thanks to our work with Amplitude, Segment, and Appsflyer, the tech startup is well on its way to success in 2023.
